Daniel_Benedict_ImageDaniel Benedict has many passions including filmmaking, horror, writing, photography, graphic design, art, and most importantly He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. This passion comes through in his work time and time again. He began making horror films at age 14 with a borrowed camcorder and willing family and friends. However, his work in his early years paid off in 2014 when his first full-length independent horror film, Bunni, was picked up for distribution.

Masters of the Universe has been a huge part of Daniel’s life since he was gifted his first action figure at 3. His MOTU love became official in 2012 when his design for Castle Grayskullman was chosen to become an actual Masters of the Universe Classics action figure. Daniel successfully funded a Kickstarter campaign in 2014, and thus began production of his short fan film, Fall of Grayskull. FOG premiered in Germany at Grayskull Con, as well as state-side in Hollywood, and later in Chicago, Louisville, and his home town of Owensboro to sold-out audiences and rave reviews. Daniel’s latest contribution to the MOTU world includes work on the Dark Horse Character Guide book which is set to release next year.

Even though he stays incredibly busy with horror films and MOTU projects, Daniel also makes television commercials including zombie themed ads he has written, directed, filmed and produced which air in large markets during the Walking Dead timeslot each week.

Daniel hopes to continue his career in horror with the start of a new script, while building his involvement in MOTU and working toward more graphic design, commercial, and art projects. He is not yet fully insane from over-commitment and trials of independent work, but if you watch closely, you may just get a glimpse of the journey there.
