I am an editor and game designer at our family’s educational software company, Innovative Learning Solutions. We produce marketing simulations that are consumed by tens of thousands of college students world-wide and are venturing into the field of history sims, specifically, the last forty years of the Roman Republic. I also run the governed publishing cooperative Old Sins, which focuses on quality, rigorous genre fiction, with my partner, Elizabeth Hinds. Currently, I am the author of the science fiction mystery graphic novel Jannah Station: A Soft Murder, the scifi espionage romance set on a forgotten penal colony In the Land of Nod, and Job, Herself, a combination of the book of Job and the Count of Monte Cristo in space.
I have a BA in English from the University of Michigan and an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Washington. I have taught college and high school students in Seattle, Brno, Chicago, Portland, and Knoxville. The courses I have taught are English, Creative Writing, Web Design and Development, Marketing, and a little History.
I live in Wilmington, NC with my wife and our family.
