Award-winning author, Carma Haley Shoemaker, was very disappointed when she discovered she was too short to be a Rockette. Now she dances in her living room between writing chapters of her latest work-in-progress.
In addition to being a best selling author, including a two-time Imajinn award winner for best romance, Carma is also an editor and poet. Her first poetry collection, “WHAT’S LEFT – Poems of Heartbreak, Loss, and Mourning,” was published in December, 2024 and is available on Amazon. “WHAT’S LEFT” was inspired by the unexpected death of her oldest son in May, 2024.
As an LPN, Carma lived in several different states with her family while working as a traveling nurse before moving home to Ashland, Ohio. There she remains, living with with her master, a black feline named Mystic, where she watches Supernatural reruns, plays too much SIMS, and plans compelling and sinister ways to “kill her darlings.”
