The conventional path in any career is to garner a skill, jump in at the bottom-level and work hard to advance. In theory this process makes sense, but for those of us who have worked in any industry for any amount of time, we know the idea of “hard work pays off” is fraught with complexity. For visionary film entrepreneur and founder of UMBRELLA PICTURES, Rob Jarosinski, he is certain there is a better way. A better way to make movies.
A better way to equitably form production crews. A better way to fairly compensate hard work and dedication. A better way of elevating stories and voices through filmmaking.
Rob Jarosinski is a former Northwestern University graduate. What that piece of paper won’t tell you is that he loosely participated in college and instead spent most of his time working at Blockbuster and holing up in his dorm watching movies. He later went on to apply his 2.7 GPA in the business world. For nearly 20-years, Rob lurked in the cubicles of corporate america and learned valuable lessons about strategic planning, organizational effectiveness and product disruption. Probably most importantly, he has thoroughly vetted what not to do as a leader in an organization.
UMBRELLA PICTURES and its growing community provides a new way of making movies. No insider secrets, gimmicks or hidden sales models. We remove the barriers from all aspects of the filmmaking process, for both creatives and investors. The centerpiece to it all beWhile along the way, elevating talented humans through fairness, financial transparency, appreciation, empathy and kindness.
The ultimate goal for UMBRELLA PICTURES is simple.
Create a filmmaking blueprint that everybody decides to copy…because who among us couldn’t benefit from scaled kindness.
