Tracey ClarkI am a country-twang gal from the bluegrass state. Kentucky is a hot bed of horses, cave systems, and whiskey. And I love all three. With my pugs and bossy kitty cat, I spend my days writing and working social media. I write with the help of the voices pushing me to create worlds for them to live in. Paranormal/Fantasy Romance, Contemporary Romance, and eventually some cowboys (because cowboys live in a group all there own, yummmm) are the genres that I love best.

Near the end of my senior year in college, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. My case was severe and came out of nowhere. Suddenly everything that I had enjoyed and taken for granted – talking, walking, reading, watching television, and creating art projects – was taken from me. It took years to get back to a semblance of a normal life. To entertain myself, stave off boredom, and most of all, keep myself from losing hope, I made up stories. At first, those stories were nothing more than pictures and thoughts in my mind, as I couldn’t write them down, but as I improved, I committed those images and worlds to paper. When I finally got to a place where I could edit and plot, and expand my worlds, I realized I wanted to share my worlds with others. I wanted to give others the chance to enjoy the wonderful characters and stories that had pulled me through my ordeal.

Writing is and escape from the ordinary, an adventure when reality pulls you down, a way to experience more from the safety of your favorite reading spot. I want others to fall in love with the worlds I create, I want them to let go of their daily lives and immerse themselves in the wonder of Kentucky and the magical lives of my characters. A trip to the beach is basically an escape from day to day life. I want readers to use my books as a way to escape from the reality of the here and now, no matter what is happening in their lives. It is just as wonderful as a trip to the beach, but a lot cheaper.

I blog a lot on writing, Multiple Sclerosis, and art in general. When my readers connect with me, I always find I have a smile on my face. When I my words touch someone, I want to stop what I am doing and rush to come up with another post. The thought that my novels could do something similar with readers has a similar effect. I want to create more for them to enjoy

My debut novel Shocking Finds (A Finder’s Keepers Novel) is my baby. I love the shorts that were published in anthologies like Stories in Green Ink and Fresh Currents, and I am excited to introduce a new world in the short Goodbye Roanoke. Southern Discoveries (Book Two – Finder’s Keepers) and my first contemporary romance set in the world of the Skymann Clan – some damaged but fun lovin’ boys from Lake Cumberland, Kentucky – were exciting to work on, but Shocking Finds will always be my baby. I hope you guys find and enjoy them as much as I enjoyed creating them for you.
